The Wandering Nutmeg Boomerang Society

Welcome to the Wandering Nutmeg Boomerang Society web page. The WNBS, founded by Keith Mullinar and Paul Sprague, is dedicated to the art, sport and safety of returning boomerangs. Our mission is to teach the entire state of Connecticut to throw boomerangs, one person at a time. We've made hardly a dent, but have had a lot of fun trying.
The WNBS can be scheduled to do boomerang demonstrations for local groups. The events typically include a short presentation on the evolution, mechanics, manufacture and sport of the boomerang. National and world-class throwers, as well as competition veterans, demonstrate the both non-returning and returning boomerangs. Demonstrators include current and past members of the U.S. national team, many of whom hold U.S. and world records and titles, and include World Cup winners. After the demonstration, everyone is invited to join the fun by learning how to safely throw and catch a boomerang. Participants may bring their own boomerang or borrow one for the afternoon event. Boomerangs are also available for purchase.
These events have included the Toss Across America, in conjunction with the Children's Museum, formerly Science Center of Connecticut.
For information about boomerangs, including a schedule of upcoming events, please see the United States Boomerang Association.
